With common names like False Spirea, False Goat's Beard and Feather Flower, Astilbe are shade loving perennials with fluffy, feathery plumes that are highly attractive to butterflies, but very resistant to deer and rodents.  Astilbe are lovely planted with Hosta and Dicentra.
